Buttonfix Limited officially receives the prestigious King’s Award for International Trade

In a proud moment for the entire Button-fix team, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the London Borough of Islington, Paul Herbage MBE, visited the company to present the trophy and certificate.

Though the official announcement was made in April, receiving the King's Award for Enterprise in person made the achievement truly resonate. During the presentation, Herbage praised Button-fix’s achievements and emphasised Islington’s pride in the company’s success. The award is not only a testament to the dedication of the Button-fix team and the strength of its product line but also a reflection of the unwavering support and feedback from distributors and customers around the globe. From the outset, Button-fix was designed with the installer in mind, focusing on strength, ease of use, affordability, and reliability—qualities that continue to drive its success in international markets. With over 40% of its sales in exports and products now available in 34 countries, including a rapidly growing market in the USA, Button-fix’s commitment to global reach is undeniable.

A Royal Reception at Windsor Castle

In addition to the personal presentation in October, His Majesty the King hosted a reception for all the Award-winners at Windsor Castle in July. Head of Sales and Marketing Julie Freedman represented the company. Reflecting on the evening, Freedman shared: “Meeting the King and discussing Button-fix was a thrill, but it was also inspiring to connect with other outstanding UK businesses from diverse sectors, all determined to make their mark on the world stage.”

A local celebration in Islington

Four out of the nationwide total of 252 recipients of the King's Award for Enterprise in 2024 are based in Clerkenwell, in the London Borough of Islington. To celebrate this remarkable achievement, the Mayor of Islington, Cllr Anjna Khurana, Islington’s Representative Deputy Lieutenant Paul Herbage, and Caroline Wilson, Director of Inclusive Economy and Jobs, hosted a special event at the Town Hall. Buttonfix Limited was represented by directors Tony Wills and Brian Watson and investor Alec McQuin. This gathering gave a valuable opportunity for the Council to learn more about some of the businesses in their Borough and to discuss the ways they can offer support.
