Why use

Type 1 Bonded

?

For hanging thin materials such as solid grade laminate, solid surface (Corian®, Hanex®, etc.), glass, metal or stone, Type 1 Bonded Button-fix is the best solution.

It is a robust fastener that can easily carry their weight, while allowing the panel to be demountable when necessary.

It is also well suited to signage applications: the Fix bracket is moulded from ABS which is easily bonded to acrylic or foamed PVC sign panels. Type 1 Bonded is reversible, allowing it to be either surface-mounted or semi-rebated. Semi-rebating is an ideal way to align the Fix while the adhesive cures and significantly improves the shear performance too.

Compatible buttons & accessories

Buttons

Custom Buttons for Type 1

Custom Buttons for Type 1

Nylon Type 1 Buttons can be produced in custom colours, such as charcoal grey (to match the Fix) or white. The Type 1 Button can also be turned in metal, for example, 316 stainless steel for marine applications. Contact us directly for pricing and minimum order quantities.

Orange Button for Type 1

Orange Button for Type 1

When attaching Type 1 Buttons to panels less than 15mm thick, or back-to-back on an 18mm panel, use the orange Button. They are designed for Ø6.2mm Varianta Euro screws, which require a Ø5mm pilot hole in the panel.

Lime green Button for Type 1

Lime green Button for Type 1

The regular glass-filled nylon Button to connect to the original Type 1, Type 1 Flush or Type 1 Bonded Fixes. Use with Ø5mm CSK wood screws (for panels at least 15mm thick) or M5 machine screws.

Accessories

Button Marker accessory

Button Marker for Type 1 & 3

The Button Marker for both Type 1 and Type 3 helps to quickly and accurately align the Button-fix installation, reducing the need for measuring and marking out. Simply snap a marker into each Fix, then position the panel and press firmly. The indents mark where the Buttons go.

Router Multijig

Router Multijig for Type 1

The Multijig helps when machining the oval recesses required for rebated configurations of Button-fix. It is made from clear acrylic, so that you can see the workpiece below, and has printed guide marks. For rebating Type 1, Type 1 Flush, Type 1 Bonded and Type 1 Metal Fixes.

Fix-pad for Type 1 Bonded

Self-adhesive Fix-pads for Type 1 Bonded are ideal for light duty applications where speed of assembly is important. Please read the Type Bonded instructions for advice on surface preparation. For the best results we advise that the Fixes are used in the rebated configuration.

More fasteners

The Type 1 Button-fix connects parallel panels where the emphasis is on strength, and is recommended when the panels are carrying cantilevered loads such as shelving.

  1. Connects panels face-to-face with a 3mm or 8mm gap
  2. Drop down or sideways engagement
  3. Ideal for acoustic, wall and ceiling panels

When constructing furniture, cladding reception desks or adding sides to kitchen cabinets, and panel-to-panel contact is required, Type 1 Flush is the recommended Button-fix.

  1. Connects panels face-to-face with no gap
  2. Drop down or sideways engagement
  3. Ideal for furniture assembly

Whether it is in transport environments, subject to vibration and shock loads, or for fire-rated ceiling panels, the Type 1 Metal Button-fix is the high-performance choice.

  1. For use on fire-retardant panels
  2. Drop down or sideways engagement
  3. Ideal for marine and other transport interiors

Its 90° connection and straight push-on engagement make the Type 2 Button-fix the recommended choice for access panels and boxing-in services.

  1. Connects panels at 90° or to a frame
  2. Push-on engagement
  3. Ideal for service access such as bath panels

Like the original Type 2, they connect panels at 90° or to a frame. But their more compact installation depth allows the Button to be fitted to the edge of an aperture in an 18mm (3/4”) panel – ideal for a service access window.

  1. Smaller installation depth than Type 2
  2. Option of push-on or drop-down assembly
  3. Ideal for washroom services ducts

The push-on/pull-off engagement of the Type 3 Button-fix couldn't be simpler, and is ideal when there is no clearance around the panel.

  1. Connects panels face-to-face with a 3mm or 8mm gap
  2. Strong push on/pull off engagement
  3. Ideal for acoustic, wall and ceiling panels
