Ideal for use with fire-retardant panels, the Type 1 Metal is a versatile, high-performance fastener. Its reliability has been independently proven through rigorous strength, shock loading and vibration tests.
Both parts of the connector are diecast in ZL2 zinc alloy and fitted with a 316 stainless-steel spring. As a general guide, four Button-fix Type 1 Metal fasteners on a vertical panel will support loads weighing up to a maximum of 770lbs (350kg), provided that the screws and substrate are properly matched and all other installation instructions are complied with. Manufactured in the UK.

In demanding applications where proven performance is required, Button-fix Type 1 Metal is the one to use.
Typical uses include:
The Type 1 Metal Fix can be surface-mounted, creating a 0.31" gap between the panels, or semi-recessed to reduce the gap to 0.12". Engage the Buttons in the Fix and slide the panel down by 0.6", until Button-fix goes 'click'. The Type 1 Metal Button-fix can be configured for sideways assembly too.
The Button Marker for both Type 1 and Type 3 helps to quickly and accurately align the Button-fix installation, reducing the need for measuring and marking out.
Snap a marker into each Fix, then position the second panel and press firmly. The marker points will leave indents in the panel surface, which can be used as pilot guides for the Buttons.
The Multijig helps when machining the oval recesses required for rebated configurations of Button-fix.
The Multijig frame is clear acrylic, so that you can see the workpiece below, and has printed guide marks. It has three clearly labelled apertures dimensioned to suit the Type 1, Type 1 Flush, Type 1 Bonded and Type 1 Metal Fixes.
